Padworth College

School Overview

Set in a 12-acre campus in Reading, Padworth College is a small sixth form international boarding college, offering a highly personalised education, preparing students from all over the world, aged 14 to 19 years, for entry to leading universities globally.

Boarding Overview

Boarding is central to the ethos of the College and the strong Padworth College community provides a home-from-home in a beautiful, calm setting.

Our school is essentially a boarding community with a global perspective. We welcome students from all over the world and celebrate cultural diversity. Our day students are an integral part of this community and enjoy the benefits of having time and space to develop their skills, interests and friendships.

Our Principal, Deputy Principal also live on site, as well as the residential house staff who provide outstanding medical help and care if ever needed. This is complemented by full medical support from the local doctor’s surgery and by healthy and nutritious meal choices from our on-site chefs.

Extra Curricular Overview

Beyond the classroom students are offered the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of day, residential trips and tours during weekends. These opportunities support academic activities as well as helping students develop as individuals and essentially further enthusiasm and ambition.

Boarders enjoy many activities during the week and at weekends. We encourage a good balance where boarders are free to join as many activities as they like or equally they may choose to relax and socialise with their friends.

Students participate in PE (‘physical education’) twice a week, playing a wide range of sports, including football, badminton, tennis, basketball, rugby, volleyball, netball and ultimate frisbee. There are additional opportunities to play football and volleyball in supervised after school clubs, and the college has an on-site fitness centre.
