School Overview
Queen’s is ideally situated on the edge of the historic market town on taunton and overlooking the picturesque areas of outstanding natural beauty the Quantock and Blackdown hills meaning pupils have both easy access to the countryside as well as nearby towns and cities. Queen’s College is one of the top academic schools in the South West of England it is renowned for its friendly atmosphere, small class sizes and excellent pastoral care.
Boarding Overview
Boarders are housed in one of the four comfortable boarding houses with a “home from home” atmosphere. The children benefit from the support of caring tutors and boarding staff.
Newcomers also enjoy the support of ‘Buddies’, more experienced students who can help them with both their studies and their boarding life issues.
Extracurricular overview
A wide variety of co-curricular activities take place. The weekend activities are so popular that day pupils come back at the weekends to take part.
On the sports field, more than a dozen students have represented their country on the international stage in recent years.
Queen’s is a centre of excellence for outdoor pursuits – with opportunities to canoe , mountain bike and climb – and also has one of the region’s largest cohorts for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
The school also runs a comprehensive programme of trips – both in the UK and abroad – and has an active Model United Nations offering.
