About St Andrew’s College Cambridge

School Overview

St. Andrew’s is located in the center of Cambridge (UK) and offers Pre-A, A-level, and University Foundation programs. We take students from 15 to 19 years old with September and January intakes each year. The average class size is 6 to 7 students with a personal tutor for each student. Excellent Oxbridge, Medicine, Science, Business, and Art departments. Boarding school with En-suite rooms and 24/7 house manager looking after the students. We offer a merit-based scholarship for top academic students with limited places.

87% of the A-level students achieved an A* to A rate, and 34% of the students progressed to a G5 university (Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, IC & UCL) in the Year 2021. Average A*-A rate 66% in the past 3 years. 100% of our Foundation students progressed to a top 50 university in the UK and 87% to a Russel Group university. We can take students aged 18+ to join the 2-Year A-level course, and students who have gap year(s) to join the Foundation course. If the student has finished high school or AS/IB/AP course and has excellent academic and English results, we can take the student for the 1-Year A-level course.

We’ve been offering NCFE-accredited Foundation courses for almost 30 years and our Foundation can lead students to progress to any British university except the G5 university.

Boarding Overview

We offer quality residential accommodation for students and we have seven residence buildings in Cambridge. Students living in our residences are looked after by a permanent member of staff who lives on-site. The residences are available exclusively to St Andrew’s Cambridge students throughout school term time.

In addition to the 6 buildings we own, we also manage part of Tripos Court where we offer a number of single en-suite bedrooms.

Residential accommodation offers a safe, comfortable and convenient alternative to homestay accommodation. Our residences are located near the Station Road and Regent Street sites so students can walk between their residences and school. You can also hire a bike or there are also regular buses available.

Each of our residences has a live-in house manager. House Managers live in private flats at their residence 52 weeks a year and work hard to look after the students they are responsible for. Most of our House Managers have been with us for many years, and all of them are DBS checked. They are all trained and qualified in food preparation, first aid, fire marshaling, allergens, and child protection.

For breakfast, students will have an intercontinental breakfast served by the house parent with fresh fruit, vegetable, bread, toast, panini, milk, cereal, juice, egg, ham, etc. For lunch and dinner, students will dine in the canteen. We update the menu every 3 weeks (every week dinner is different) and send the menus to all students.

Extracurricular Overview

St Andrew’s College offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities to suit a wide spectrum of interests. Students can choose from various sports, clubs and societies and social activities.

We strongly believe that students who take part in a variety of extra-curricular activities develop their self-confidence, and improve their organization along with their ability to work as part of a team. Universities tend to offer places to well-rounded individuals with hobbies and interests that differ from their academic discipline, so we advise our students to get involved in as many activities as possible to both broaden their interests and have fun!
